Nintendo Characters from France or speak French

With E3 hype ready I thought today’s #frenchfriday post could deal with all the Nintendo Characters who are french and well this is actually difficult to research, especially when localization has made some non-french characters french like Dupree in Paper Mario so I went the easy route and only cataloged the ones who are most definitely French.

We Begin with Twintelle from Arms who shook the internet after her original design was revealed and finally that first Nintendo Switch original franchise had an interesting character. She’s a movie star and likes her coffee and well boxing.

Using Nintendo’s Animal Crossing to learn another language (French)

When trying to learn a language it’s important to immerse yourself in the language and this is easier said than done if you’re not living in a place where the language is spoken. But if you look for stuff that you’re doing and try to make it into secret French lessons then it’s awesome. I’m a fan of the Animal Crossing series and after playing it for a while I decided to change the language to French and here’s my results so far.

If you’re not familiar with the franchise or the mobile game then you can read the a review right here and while it’s not the best game ever in the series it’s fun enough and it ended up being a great game to practice French. You can select and change the language at anytime that you like and this is great in case you want to start it in your own language before dwelling into French or whatever you’re learning. You do have two options between France and Quebec French and I ended up choosing Quebec.

Animal Crossing Pocket Camp is a good mobile Forest game, comfier than New Horizons

The problem with..

When Animal Crossing Mobile was announced I was so hyped for it as it meant that I would finally get to play Animal Crossing again as it had been a while since I dwelled into that world. The wait seemed forever but eventually Pocket Camp had a release date and I got to play it. I had no idea what to expect or how well or awful it would translate to phones and tablets but while it ended up being pretty good, here is the problem with Animal Crossing Pocket Camp.

There was a lot to fear since they could’ve made a game that was filled with micro transactions and it likely would’ve done alright. What we got was not just a spin-off looking game even if it is indeed a spin-off but it feels like the real game and plays like it. The difference is instead of having a town you have a camp and you still fulfill requests of visiting campers in different areas so it’s very much a simplified or demo version of the real game and while it lacks a lot of the charm of the original it scratches the itch.

G4 Icons Episode #26: Arcade

First out of the defunct G4TV gaming channel there was a show of small half-hour documentaries and one of them is about arcades. While not the best documentary out there it does help you understand how things were back then.
