When Reggie Fils-Aime went on Jimmy Fallon’s The Tonight Show to show off Super Mario Run and the Nintendo Switch he also brought in Miyamoto. As some of you know Shigeru Miyamoto loves music hence why he made the much hated Wii Music game but it’s really one of his passions probably more than video games so here we see him palying the Super Mario Bros. theme with The Roots which is nice.

I remember seeing The New Adventures of Captain S advertised on Screwattack as I went there to watch the Angry Video Game Nerd and thinking it was stupid but it wasn’t until a few years later that I was curious and checked it out and was pleasently surprised, it’s hard to describe what this show actually is but I’ll give it a shot.

When youtube first launched ten years ago I used to search for stuff that I had plenty of nostalgia for and Sonic the Hedgehog’s SatAM show was one of them. While I never really liked “tribute’ videos which were quite popular at the time there was one that I enjoyed a lot that it became one of the first Youtube videos I ever favorited so it’s worth your time to check it out.
Connectivity, a simple word that caused gamers to shiver upon hearing in the early 2000’s when Nintendo decided it would focus on connecting instead of online gaming. Viewed skeptically since it was announced and never quite took off. But was it really that bad or did gamers miss out on what could have been one something innovative tool in gaming?

The Nightmare before Christmas is a movie that never got a sequel, apparently Tim Burton who created the idea shut down a proposed CG sequel in the early 2000’s but did it really not get a sequel? As I mentioned in my Nightmare Revisited review the franchise got sort of a revival in popularity in the mid 00’s thanks to Hot Topic selling merchandise but we didn’t just get t-shirts and beanies we also ended up getting what is essentially the closest thing we have to a sequel and that’s a video game sequel which picks up a year after the original film.

So today unexpectedly they announced Super Mario Run coming out on iOS and later confirmed on Android shortly after. That’s something I certainly didn’t expect to see at the apple conference. It was weird hearing Miyamoto speak English for so long, he normally only says a few words. So let’s talk about it quickly with yays and nays.
