Movies like The Nightmare Before Christmas and its sequel force you to ask yourself if it’s a Halloween or a Christmas movie, but besides seeing some Jack O’Lanterns with Santa hats because X-Mas arrives to stores during mid October there aren’t many other movies that mix both holidays but I found one and well I just had to watch it so have a review of Casper’s Haunted Christmas

I’m a big fan of X-Mas songs but since most of my favorites are the usual suspects that you’ll hear a thousand times in stores by the time the season is over I thought I’d do something a little different. Today we feature three X-Mas songs that were featured in different Christmas specials so at least these are different interpretations from the usual classics and they have cool music videos to along with them as well. Grace Jones – The Little Drummer Boy – Pee-Wee’s Playhouse Christmas Special
The oddest song in this odd X-Mas special by Pee-Wee Herman, the performance by Grace Jones is absolutely fantastic. You can tell just how much artistic fortitude just oozes out of her every movement even when she’s in Pee-Wee Herman’s flippin’ Playhouse. I especially love it when Pee-Wee starts dancing like an idiot and Grace Jones just goes along with it. Her outfit is not very Christmassy in fact she takes her winter jacker and gloves and dances in this weird plastic body suit that makes you question if it’s even appropriate for the children watching and yet mesmerizing at the same time, a must watch performance every X-Mas at MiscRave.
In the 2000’s for Hollywood it seemed like a good idea to adapt the Dr. Seuss’ books into live action films. How they thought they could adapt a children’s book of only a few pages and barely any sentences in it into an hour long movie when a 22 minute special was already stretching things is something we will never know, we do know that Dr. Seuss’ wife decided not to allow any more live action adaptations after these two movies came out. Are the that bad? They don’t have a great reputation but they are much better than you may think.

As a kid Sega, Playstation and Nintendo were the big boys when it came to Christmas presents since those were automatically the “Big” gift of the year that only the latest Megazord from Power Rangers could hope to match. Their holiday commercials for that very reason were quite iconic, so let’s take a look at 3 different commercials that these companies made at different times in the 90s.

A X-Mas dinner full of political talk and awkward heated discussions seems more relevant than ever and seeing the Playstation gang crashing the party with at the moment super rebellious Crash the Bandicoot man followed by a goofy looking Sweet Tooth from Twisted Metal and a “realistic” unrealistic Lara Croft entering and showing them video games is just all kinds of awesome. There were other commercials around 1998 that featured this same gang of characters crashing various events and it worked for the most part in getting the point accross, it was some great marketing.

As a kid I once caught what is now known as SaTAM, and I fell in love with that version of the character, sadly growing up the only cartoon I could ever catch consistently was AOSTH and I hated it while Underground I never really knew existed We’ve looked at the Super Mario cartoon Trilogy so it’s not time to take a look back at Sonic’s very own Cartoon Trilogy which consisted of Adventures of Sonic the Hedgehog, Sonic The Hedgehog and Sonic Underground.

At what time do you put away your Christmas decorations? As I wondered when I was going to put away my Christmas tree this year but I just couldn’t decide. For a few years I was putting them away on the 26th since Christmas was over but then I listened to the 12 days of Christmas song and looked it up and indeed there are 12 days of Christmas and contrary to some calendars they actually begin on the 25th, they don’t end on the 25th which made sense so I tried to follow that the year after but things are a lot more complicated than that.
Christmas being the mess of a holiday since it’s a fusion of so many different things that it’s only normal for there not to be an exact answer and you’ll see answers that ranger from various days in January all the way to February 2nd for specific reasons and they all have some validity.
Christmas was yesterday and we all received presents, did you get any good ones?
In my case my present was more of a trip and other presents I got this year aren’t really “share” friendly and I don’t mean they aren’t appropriate but nothing really “interesting” to show online but quite useful and great in their own right. I actually turned down a few “fun” geeky things when some people asked me, maybe I’m growing up but let’s hope it’s not that and next year can be a little more “fun” to show.
