In today’s episode of the podcast we’ll talk about site updates, listener questions and the upcoming Kong movie in the Godzilla cinematic universe.
As a kid with such software available to my hands as Napster and a love for Nintendo, it didn’t take long for one of the terms I searched for would be “Zelda” and sure enough I was able to find something. Zelda Rap by 5-3 Federation. I downloaded it and after 20 minutes or so I got to listen to it.

The rap uses the original The Legend of Zelda intro as the beats as he raps about the game and making random geeky references. This was more than a decade from when geek culture was “cool” so it really was done for the passion for the game. There are tons of zelda raps now but this is the original and if you ask what an odd choice well remember that the original commercial had a zelda rap, though I guess that would make it the original, nevertheless check it out:

The True Warrior Enters The Arena With All His Powers At The Ready
Like most I loved Street Fighter II: The Animated Movie and when I saw there was a movie based on Street Fighter Alpha I was as excited as you could get. I would go on Manga Entertainment’s website and play the trailer for the movie on the crappy RealMedia player over and over.

The trailer made it seem like it was awesome and dealt with Akuma and his fall from grace. The actual movie had nothing to do with that but that doesn’t stop the trailer from being awesome to this day. We did eventually get Street Fighter Alpha Generations many years later that dealt with Akuma. Which was made for the American market and didn’t release in Japan until much later as an extra. That movie was pretty bad on its own right but if you realize the whole reason that movie was made was because of the demand in the west for an Akuma movie…this means that the trailer that Manga Entertainment did for Street Fighter Alpha The Movie was the sole reason this movie was made as fans felt cheated by the acutal product. Now isn’t that something.

I grew out of wrestling after the attitude era but as I channel surfed one lazy day I found a wrestling show that got my attention, this was no modern WWE, it was Wrestling Society X.

Known as an absolutely terrible wrestling promotion that only lasted ten episodes but I saw something else, a show that brought wrestling back in a fun way for me to enjoy. So does that mean Wrestling Society X is secretly good?

Today I was originally going to talk about the evolution of the Smackdown! intros through out the years but I quickly saw how terrible they all were and the only one worth any commentary was the original WWF Smackdown! intro / opening from 1999.

There’s not much to describe as it’s better to just watch it as it just features gibberish over fast hard rock music with a montage of WWF footage with really quick cuts to showcase the action.
Today is the release of a new Nintendo console, and a new launch doesn’t happen too often so what better way to celebrate it than by going back and remembering the previous Nintendo home console launches similar to how I did it for Pokemon.
I have been a part of every Nintendo Console and the launch of pretty much all of them: The Nintendo Entertainment System, The Super NES, the Nintendo 64, the Gamecube, the Wii, the Wii U, the Nintendo Switch and soon the Nintendo Switch 2. So let’s begin with my first Nintendo home console that I got as I was just a wee little lad.
As a kid I was always interested in all those fan clubs that were promoted whether on the action figures that I bought or even on my Kids Meal when I went to Burger King. I must’ve been too young to understand how they worked though since I don’t recall ever knowing how they worked.
Little did I know that the Mighty Morphin’ Power Rangers had a fan club and not only did it include all kinds of neat memorabilia but also a VHS tape that had exclusive content! As soon as I found that out I knew I had to find it to see what this “lost” Power Rangers footage included.
