Mighty Morphin’ Alien Rangers – the mini Power Rangers side spin-off season

Mighty Morphin’ Alien Rangers – the mini Power Rangers side spin-off season
Looking back on..

During the final season of Mighty Morphin’ Power Rangers near the end we got a new intro and a new set of heroes as the main cast had been transformed to children, that it really was is that they wanted to use the cheaper Japanese footage they had available and therefore created this mini-series.

I don’t remember much as a kid what I thought of it but it was definitely a radical change. In hindsight I think it’s awesome they incorporated the Sentai footage of the suits into the show by having them be Rangers from another planet; Something that has happened a few times since but those are not Alien Rangers, figure that out. The logo is the only one on all the seasons that breaks the mold which makes people with slight OCD like me crazy. Really odd that they’re called Alien Rangers as if its their official name and another thing to bring out your OCD is that its the only ranger team that isn’t “Power Rangers” but “Alien Rangers”. This is gladly fixed in Power Rangers Zeo where they are called The Alien Power Rangers fixing my biggest yet stupid issue that i have.

Extr@: the show for those learning French / Spanish / English / German Extra
Looking back on..

Understanding Spoken French in TV shows or movies was always very difficult for me and I was recommended this show that was a Friend’s like sitcom for those who are learning the language to start off and train my ear. I wasn’t feeling too hopeful but I looked it up and checked it out and I have to say it was exactly what I needed.

As mentioned the show was made for people learning french and while you can see some Friends like influences, it’s really its own thing. The premise is that an American named Sam Scott goes to France to visit a friend in France Sasha and there she meets her roommate and neighbor Nico The show does reek of edutainment but in a good way since it’s fun instead of also feeling like a cheap sitcom. It really hits a nice balance.

Power Rangers Zeo were the most powerful

Power Rangers Zeo were the most powerful
Looking back on..

Last week we finished the last season of Mighty Morphin’ Power Rangers which is a direct lead to Power Rangers Zeo. As you know Saban decided to change the format of Power Rangers with the fourth season and decided to follow the yearly sentai theme more closely and not only changing villains and mecha but also the suits. So let’s take a look at everything that the last season built up and if it delivered.

Before Zeo even began they aired some shorts leading up to the premier which is called “the Zeo Serial” which all the short together make another “episode” and it’s cool; This never aired where I lived but it would’ve gotten me super excited in fact as a kid I probably thought Power Rangers was cancelled as it got taken off the air after Season 3. I did find out about the other seasons not long after and even got to see a little of Zeo and Power Rangers Turbo but for the most part the franchise was dead in my area. Dragon Ball and Video Games kept me from being too sad about it though and I moved on. The Zeo serial works fine I don’t know why the fandom mentions that it’s non-canon because of A Zeo beginning, it can still fit, I mean what’s Power Rangers without a few retcons?

Power Rangers 2017 movie was a decent reboot

Power Rangers 2017 movie was a decent reboot
Looking back on..

For the longest time I waited for a new Power Rangers movie, while other franchises that became forgotten or lame they were all brought back thanks to nostalgia but it seemed Power Rangers could never catch a break. We finally got an announcement, I was hyped, but then the first reveal shots of the suits didn’t really set the world on fire and yet the trailer looked like it had potential. The final marketing push got me uninterested in the movie and since I was a bit busy at the time I didn’t get to watch it on theaters but no matter what it seemed like Power Rangers was finally cool again. So, now that the movie hype is gone how does it fare? It was liked by people but didn’t do so well at the box office and it has an uncertain future.

I’ll get straight to the point at first and say that overall the movie was not bad, not excellent but good. I didn’t know what to expect going in, almost all the stuff that came out before the movie such as suit designs and whatnot didn’t seem to be what I wanted but people seemed to like it and the first trailer piqued my interest. The movie is just all over the place and doesn’t exactly seems to know what it wants to be; it also does a lot of really new things that most superhero films don’t do and I applaud that but I can’t say all of them worked. So while ther are things in there that make me want to love the film.

The Land Before Time Franchise Complete History and More

The Land Before Time Franchise Complete History and More
Looking back on..

The Land Before Time franchise started in 1988 with a successful movie which I remember always renting at the video store until I got my own copy. Luckily this was the time Jurassic Park came out which brought a resurgence in dinomania and we got a sequel a year later in 1994. We ended up getting a sequel every year until the tv show began and then later again a few years later.

As a kid I kept getting overwhelmed that new movies kept coming out until I couldn’t keep up and grew up. Most would always complain about why they kept making more of them but I didn’t really mind as I was not the target audience. But being such a huge fan of the franchise as a kid, I decided to watch all the movies and well I have to say I’m impressed even if they’re not the greatest pieces of cinema. In the coming days you’ll find links to my reviews of all 14 films, tv show and more.

Casper’s Haunted Christmas for some spooky nightmare before xmas style
Looking back on..

Movies like The Nightmare Before Christmas and its sequel force you to ask yourself if it’s a Halloween or a Christmas movie, but besides seeing some Jack O’Lanterns with Santa hats because X-Mas arrives to stores during mid October there aren’t many other movies that mix both holidays but I found one and well I just had to watch it so have a review of Casper’s Haunted Christmas

How The Grinch Stole Christmas & Cat in the Hat are great Dr. Seuss Live Action

How The Grinch Stole Christmas & Cat in the Hat are great Dr. Seuss Live Action
Looking back on..

In the 2000’s for Hollywood it seemed like a good idea to adapt the Dr. Seuss’ books into live action films. How they thought they could adapt a children’s book of only a few pages and barely any sentences in it into an hour long movie when a 22 minute special was already stretching things is something we will never know, we do know that Dr. Seuss’ wife decided not to allow any more live action adaptations after these two movies came out. Are the that bad? They don’t have a great reputation but they are much better than you may think.
