Dinosaur king

I stumbled into this show on TV once and thought it was just another Pokemon rip-off with Dinosaurs and dismissed it as just another copy cat that came out many years too late to cash in but while that is basically the DNA of the show it’s not that simple. One day I stumbled into it again and decided to check it out. So why don’t we take a look at this Pokemon inspired show that has Dinosaurs instead of pocket monsters to fight, what could be more awesome than two of my favorite things combined?

Let’s begin with the boring stuff..The theme song I found very annoying but it grew on me over time and I like it now oddly enough. The show is a 4Kids Dub and like most of their shows it has a new soundtrack which sucks but this really isn’t a show I’d be willing to read subtitles for, its dumb fun and I just want to turn my brain off. There are also instances of censorship but it was hard to find out what exactly was cut, I know there were dinosaur poop jokes that were cut and I think some sexual content but I’m unsure about what other stuff was cut. Now to the dinosaurs..

The Jurassic Park franchise had been dormant for quite a few years after Jurassic Park /// but then in the early 2010’s we saw a revival of sorts to the brand with a new logo, new comics and a new video game. It was not an action game however but story based which means you only help the story along with some quick interactions every once in a while. So in a way it is really more of an interactive story than a videogame similar to such classics as Dragon’s Lair.

The story takes place during and immediately after the original Jurassic Park movie finishes with a special team from BioSyn sent to rescue the Barbasol can that had the dinosaur embryos. But we also see a familiar face Gerry Harding who is the dinosaur veterinarian from the park as well as a new character from the triceratop caregiver and Nima Cruz, a native from the Tun-Si tribe that was native to Isla Nublar. So while telling a new story that doesn’t intervene too much with the established canon it also tries to fix some plot holes that the film left off. Jurassic Park is one of the most famous franchises out there with kids and adults and yet it never really got an amazing fast food promotion but at the very least it has gotten some fast food love along side with some decent promotions and nice commercials to go along with them so let’s take a look at them.

McDonalds had the rights for Jurassic Park when the original movie came out however they couldn’t really get figures made for the Happy Meal since they had just gotten off from the controversy of making toys for the PG-13 movie Batman returns so they had a policy of no toys for movies rated above PG. They made up by having Dino Sized value meals which were a big hit and eventually became standard even though they weren’t originally meant to stay.

Starting June MiscRave will be raving it up with Jurassic June! Now what is Jurassic June? It’s a celebration that started as a joke by the Jurassic Park fandom since every franchise seemed to have a “day” so we took a whole month. But is now a time to enjoy all things Dinosaur related. So expect many dinosaur related posts the whole month; Not every article will be Dinosaur related but I’ll try to have most of them fit the theme of the month, you’ll also see some gaming articles as it’s also E3 time and the usual Miscellaneous articles that are expected. I’ve been holding off on some Dinosaur articles just so they could be posted in June
