It’s been a while since we took a look back at three different music videos and here are today’s selections with some trip-hop, nu-metal and synth-pop. Some cool music with some interesting music videos, so let’s take a look at what sets these videos apart from the usual crap.
Saliva – Your Disease
I know Saliva gets a lot of hate but when I do believe they have a few good songs here and there. I had seen this music video once or twice when I had just turned into a teenager and my cousins cool boyfriend with a sports car on a random drive after kick boxing class was driving over the speed limit while playing this song. This song will forever be cool for me. So whether Josey Scott is acting cool driving fast next to a random high school, a lesbian getting a regrettable nautical star tattoo as people pass around propaganda for his concert which is a bit egotistical but we’ll forever ignore the nonsensical lyrics as it just happens to be a cool little sing. Random groupies and bad security at the bar with random girls looking at stuff as the band tries to act cool? Yes please !
Sneaker Pimps – Spin Spin Sugar
This video is the right kind of 90s with cool colors and feel. Kelli Ali gives the song and video a special look that I doubt anyone else could’ve been able to with her movements. At first I though she was trying to pretend to be a vampire but realized it was not the case and only made this video better. The video is random but that’s what gives it the style it needs as a drug induced trip like no one else and you just ignore what may be a detective investigation, random hammer fat guy and belly dancer.
MISSIO – Bottom of the Deep Blue Sea
Something a little more recent with Missio, I really like that this movie makes me think of a few different bands but I can’t quite put my finger on it. The music video is nothing special but I do like that it’s mostly obscure dark scenes which I guess fit the deep blue sea lyrics. The blue tint gives it a nice effect as well ad well there’s no better music video to end today than with this, we’ll just ignore the parts that seem like it wants to do something more.
