Super Mario Bros Movie 1993 is Cyberpunk sexy Nintendo

Super Mario Bros Movie 1993 is Cyberpunk sexy Nintendo
Looking back on..

At a video rental store I saw the movie of one of my favorite video games, Super Mario Bros so I decided to rent it. I guess since I was a kid I thought it was ok but I was never interested in watching it again and I didn’t understand what I had really watched. I guess I just thought live action movies were different from their animated counterparts. This movie is seen as fodder but it was a weird one so after watching it again I can honestly say this is an awesome movie.

Why yes, there’s a Rave scene full of techno punk outfits and in general the whole Dinohattan City is cyber punk inspired and frankly it looks amazing. This grim future you would expect from various movies in the 80s, in fact this movie still feels very well stuck in that decade even if made later. The grim visuals of the movie are nothing like the video game but that doesn’t matter since its visually appealing and unique.

Super Mario Run is what a mobile game should be

Super Mario Run is what a mobile game should be
The problem with..

Nintendo made their debut into mobile games with Miitomo which had a some problems but they rectified this by launching their biggest name not long after with Super Mario Run. I had talked about the game before release but now that the game has been out for along time, it seems to have done rather well initially but still hasn’t met Nintendo’s expectation but at the same time their games are supposed to get people to play in Nintendo platforms. So let’s take a look at the problems with Super Mario run

I originally downloaded it when it came out and finished the free levels it offered and as a demo I guess it’s ok but it leaves you wanting for more, but you could also see that there wasn’t a lot of content which made you think twice about buying the game. Eventually I bought it with the most recent update since it was also on sale and added plenty of content. It wasn’t the first update as they had already added characters and other things in previous ones, this one was just a bigger update.

6 Mario Outfits / Costumes Missing in Super Mario Odyssey

6 Mario Outfits / Costumes Missing in Super Mario Odyssey
Gaming Again

Mario has worn a lot of outfits in his entire career in the video game industry and Nintendo is paying tribute to it in Super Mario Odyssey where you can change his outfit to various outfits that Mario has worn. Nintendo went deep into his history and choosing outfits from obscure spin-off games and promotional artwork but here are 5 costumes that Nintendo forgot to include in Super Mario Odyssey. When choosing this list I made sure to only include outfits from games and/or official promotional artwork.

Let’s begin with sleeveless shirt Mario who was featured in the ad for the Game Boy Advanced SP Tribal design. Theory on the internet goes that he hasn’t really been shown without a shirt since then so that canonically Mario still has that tattoo. Now that we have shirtless Mario in Odyssey some people were bummed but that’s only based on artwork that may or may not have taken place before the tattoo or it was a temporary tattoo like Peter Moore’s GTA tattoo. Missing from the game is a completely sleeveless shirt as pictured here in this advertisement.

Captain N: The Game Master is the greatest nintendo cartoon

Captain N: The Game Master is the greatest nintendo cartoon
Looking back on..

While playing videogames Kevin gets zapped and travels to Videoland! He was chosen as the Gamemaster who must travel to different video games and save Videoland. I don’t know about you but the concept of this cartoon is awesome. I have vague memories of Captain N: The Game Master as a kid but not many since I was very young when it aired so it was mostly like watching the it for the first time for me since all I recognized was a little bit of the character models. Let’s not forget that Captain N is part of the Nintendo Animated Universe. So lets take a look at the show.

The show is from 1989 so its plagued with a lot of the stuff that makes 80s shows inferior to ones from say the 90s or 00s. That will probably tick off fans of 80s shows but its the truth even if I do enjoy some 80s animation. Its not a bad show but it really isn’t anything special either that I could recommend to any normal person. Its also hard to recommend to say all video game fans or fans of the franchises that are shown such as Castlevania or Mega Man since fans will no doubt be angry at the portrayal of the characters they like. But I really can’t blame the show too much, I mean this was during the time when videogames had very basic storylines not to mention artwork wasn’t stellar either so of course they took their own liberties, especially when being inspired by 8 bit models.

Gaming Again

Newgrounds constantly uploaded flash videos of different kinds and in 2007 we got a video called Rawest Forest, it’s been ten years and it’s still as great as it was back then. If you never played Super Mario RPG, it was an amazing game released at the end of the SNES’ life but it had a big impact on those who played it. It basically made RPGs be my favorite genre for many years. The music was also excellent and in particular you had one as you made your way through Geno’s Maze which is the background music of this video “Rawest Forest”.

The Super Mario Bros Cartoon Trilogy of the 90s: Super Show, Adventures 3, World oh my!

The Super Mario Bros Cartoon Trilogy of the 90s: Super Show, Adventures 3, World oh my!
Looking back on..

In the early days of Nintendo you used to see a lot more licensing of their stuff thanks to Nintendo of America who knew it was a great idea to have your brand in different places but that liberty NOA had was taken away by Nintendo Co. LTD in japan and they decided to be much more conservative with their use of their Intellectual Property. Nowadays Nintendo is more willing to license their stuff and we’ll see mSore and more in the coming years but let’s take a look back on the first three Super Mario Bros Cartoons that the late 80s and early 90s gave to us.
