Gotham was the perfect Batman TV show

Gotham was the perfect Batman TV show
Looking Back On..

When the Batman prequel Gotham TV series was announced I thought it’d be somewhat similar to Smallville where you would see all these things happening before they should and I was interested in this I read it’d also have a 10 year old Bruce Wayne, that made no sense and killed the potential for me. … Read More “Gotham was the perfect Batman TV show” »

Spawn rocked the world in 1997 as the best superhero movie at the time
Looking Back On..

Often criticized Spawn 1997’s live action film is underrated so why don’t we take a look back at what makes this movie better than most people give it credit for. The 90s xtreme attitude really let Image Comics and Spawn shine but Hollywood and superheroes were in a totally different game. Even Batman had trouble … Read More “Spawn rocked the world in 1997 as the best superhero movie at the time” »

Music Match

Superhero movies were a thing that wasn’t so frequent back in the day and we’d only get one every other year but still big enough that it got a lot of promotion because theyw ere still iconic characters. The Fall is here so why not listen to some Autumn esque superhero music videos based on superheroes which isn’t really done anymore and that’s a shame. Not that any of these superhero music videos have much to do with the heroes themselves but that’s what makes them so much fun.

Stone Sour – Bother

Corey Taylor from Slipknot made his unmasked debut with this song that was promoting Spider-Man, most people were shocked and angry at the decision to do this “mainstream” project than more Slipknot and him taking his mask off than the Marvel connection but I’d argue that’s the biggest WTF moment with this decision. The song is an ok radio edit of a radio friendly song that besides some iffy lyrics isn’t so bad at all but the best part is that it has absolutely nothing to do with Spider-Man, not even random scenes from the movie as the only connection to the movie is that he wears a Spider-Man ring that is focused on plenty of times during the video which takes you off the mood of the video which shows a copy of Corey Taylor aging rapidly until he dies and becomes dust only to leave his spiderman ring which the young Corey Taylor puts on encompassing his own Spider-Man ring. Music from and inspired from Spider-Man? Exactly how?

Is The Tick Amazon Prime Spoon enough?

Is The Tick Amazon Prime Spoon enough?
Looking back on..

The Tick was a show that took me a while to get but when it finally clicked I realized I had been missing out. The first live action show and animated series were both great in their own way so when Amazon announced a new show for their Prime Video service I was pretty excited and hoped they wouldn’t mess it up. So how is this Tick series revival? A bit of a mixed bag.

It should be noted the pilot episode came out in 2016, the first part of season 1 which has one storyline in 2017 and 2018 saw the release of the second story arc of season 1. I don’t understand the route they decided to take this show on, it’s still a parody I guess.. they have the budget to have fight scenes and whatnot.. it’s still an adult show.. It’s just not funny, the writing is terrible and boring, it doesn’t seem to know that it’s a parody at times acting a bit too serious. IT had the potential of outdoing both series and yet I was really disappointed after the first few episodes.

Original Batman Live Action Quadrology 4 films in continuty gothic vs neon

Original Batman Live Action Quadrology 4 films in continuty gothic vs neon
Looking back on..

The four Batman films from the 90s even though I guess technically the first one was released in 1989 all share a continuity, now most people like to draw a difference between the Tim Burton films and the Joe Schumacher films and while there are definitely differences between them three is no denying that the four films are meant to take place in the same universe and are not as tonally different as people like to believe so let’s take a look back at them.

Too bad there is no easy way to tell this saga apart and since fans divide the films as mentioned above it hasn’t helped the situation. We’ve seen box sets of the films called as the Legacy collection and also the Anthology so I guess that’s the best we have unless we want to call it a quadriology or tetralogy. The movies do go nicely together when they use the logos to differentiate each movie as each one has a very iconic batman shield for that movie.

The Tick Cartoon & Live Action series are so SPOON Oh my!

The Tick Cartoon & Live Action series are so SPOON Oh my!
Looking back on..

The Tick is a local comic book stores mascot that somehow became popular enough to end up getting a cartoon in the 90s and reaching a big audience. Later it got a more adult oriented live action sitcom show which was liked but didn’t have great ratings. If you’re not familiar with The Tick, both shows are a bit different even if they still remain true to the same idea. Let’s take a look back at the animated and live action shows.

The basic premise of The Tick is that Arthur quits his job as he decides to become a superhero and this is where he meets the Tick who just arrived to The City since he is looking for a new city to protect. We get to meet other superheroes who also live in the city and see that life is not so easy for the spandex wearing peeps.

Sony’s Spider-Man Cinematic Universe Can Work

Sony’s Spider-Man Cinematic Universe Can Work
Miscellaneous

Spider-Man is back at Marvel for the time being and Sony has been wanting to do their own Cinematic Universe for a while now and is going ahead with it, even without Spidey himself. Most people seem to be against it but is it really a bad idea?

Sony already tried to do a cinematic universe once before with The Amazing Spider-Man duology but it failed to catch on. As I wrote before, it’s not that bad of a movie even if it has its flaws and it wasn’t a bomb either, it just was a disappointment in the Box Office. Sony is clearly invested with Spider-Man as we’ve seen with it headlining E3 2017 with an exclusive game, an animated movie and various Spiderverse movies being worked on.
