The 5 Games That Nintendo Needs To Bring To Mobile
Gaming Again

Nintendo has been releasing mobile games for a few years now with some being better than others but in general we can agree that they haven’t had the best track record in choosing what franchises they should move to mobile or adapting them to the market. While people think of Nintendo’s biggest franchises to be … Read More “The 5 Games That Nintendo Needs To Bring To Mobile” »

Nintendo’s adopted JRPG Dragalia Lost deserves a console game

Nintendo’s adopted JRPG Dragalia Lost deserves a console game

I was hyped for Dragalia Lost since Nintendo casually mentioned it with their new partnership with Cygames and upcoming mobile games and was hoping it’d come out soon to the west. Then announcement came and went and not many people seemed to remember and you couldn’t really find information, luckily we did get a Nintendo Direct and a more formal announcement around the original time it was going to come out. Dragons, anime characters, waifus, action RPGs? These are things I used to love but don’t really pay much attention to anymore but this seemed like the video game to go back to those times.

I’m not familiar with Granblue or any other character gatcha games unless you count Fire Emblem Heroes when it comes to mobile games so this is pretty much my first experience with a game like this. I finished the available chapters and have played in the three different limited events so far and given it enough time to be able to give a better opinion of what I think about it. When I first downloaded it I absolutely loved it and couldn’t get enough of it while now I am a bit tired of it and while I still love that something like this exists, I just feel it requires way too much time which I don’t have and sooner rather than later I’ll be giving up on it because of it I still have logged plenty of hours in it and had a lot of fun so take that into consideration. But now I want to talk about the things that I like and the things that I do not.

The Legend of Zelda 80s Cartoon is faithful to the franchise

The Legend of Zelda 80s Cartoon is faithful to the franchise
Looking back on..

The Super Mario Super Show had an episode of Zelda on their Friday shows and in their 52 episode run meant we got a 13 episode The Legend of Zelda animated short. While it was part of the Mario cartoon its normally packaged as its own series and I think that’s fine, now these are not full episodes as it’s only 11 minute shorts since it shared the airtime with Mario but it was still pretty cool that they sneaked a Zelda cartoon in an unrelated one. The show is rather infamous for being bad but is it really? Let’s take a look back

This show as made with a lot of love and I think in some cases more thought was put in it than the Super Mario Cartoon, you have to remember that this show started production before even Zelda II came out so all it had to base itself off was from the first game. That first game doesn’t have much of a story or characters to work with and even the Super Mario cartoon had at least two games to work with. Many of the things they made up for the show such as using magic, partner fairy, horses among others were all eventually featured in future Zelda games so you can even say that they were visionaries for the franchise. Granted you can argue these are all Fantasy tropes but they’re all a big part of what Zelda is now and they weren’t in the first game.

Every Animal Crossing App made by Nintendo

Every Animal Crossing App made by Nintendo
Gaming Again

Animal Crossing of all series has actually gotten a few different Apps made for it unlike most other franchises and not all of these are very well known. Before some of these fade to obscurity I thought I’d talk a little about the different apps the franchise has gotten, now this won’t include spin-off games or stuff like the stickers in the Line App which is what the featured image is from. I think Animal Crossing is a series that could have some useful apps but sadly we haven’t really gotten that many great ones.

Fist we have the Animal Crossing Clock on the DSi shop but was also readily available on the 3DS eshop for $2. I was ready for anything Animal Crossing but sadly this isn’t it. Having a clock on a system that already has a built in clock is rather pointless but what makes it worse is that this app has to be running for it to work as it can’t run on the background. There goes the function for alarm clock out the window. I think a lot of detail could’ve also been put into the app to make it feel more like Animal Crossing and while it lets you change the town tune among other small details it doesn’t have enough in it to make it feel special like having the themes for the hours or changing seasons etc. An Animal Crossing clock App could be useful but just not in this form factor sadly.

Donkey Kong Continuity Timeline Made Sense no joke

Donkey Kong Continuity Timeline Made Sense no joke
Continuity on Infinite Earths

There seems to be a lot of confusion about the Donkey Kong timeline, Cranky Kong, Donkey Kong Sr. and Donkey Kong Jr. I have likely thought about more about Donkey Kong and Mario lore than the average folk without becoming so obsessed to be a part of those lore gate keepers on Mario/Gaming wiki/fandoms. I … Read More “Donkey Kong Continuity Timeline Made Sense no joke” »
