Instant Star was a Canadian show that dealt with Jude Harrison, the winner of a music reality show contest’s first season and her life after it. It’s a fairly interesting show and one of the best songs ever featured was “Waste my Time” who Alexz Johnson (Jude Harrison) performs. Not long after a singer from Quebec, Marie-Mai covered the song and while she changed the lyrics somewhat it’s still a cover. A neat coincidence is that like the show she was initially known as one of the finalists of the first season of the Quebec reality show Star Académie, quite a fun parallel from the concept of the Canadian show.
The song is her second album Dangereuse Attraction. Also check out a live version of Tôt Ou Tard at EXPO Québec in 2009, the lyrics (paroles), and translation below.

Scientists discovered a new Pokemon on July 5th named Mew and a cloning experiment was done shortly after giving birth to Mewtwo on February 6th. He turned out to be too powerful to control and escaped a few months after. His current whereabouts are unknown.

For Pokemon’s 20th anniversary it was decided that an ad on the Superbowl was a good idea. The ad was very vague and seemed like an odd decision for The Pokemon Company to have taken it. Now it seems like it was the perfect decision as Pokemon Go became a huge fad that same summer and in the fall Pokemon Sun and Moon ended up becoming one of the best sold games in the series. Let’s take a look at it again:

In 2003 WWE had a commercial where the wrestlers of the company go on a field to teach a lesson to football players. It’s a quick little ad that makes fun of the failure that was the XFL. It’s nice to see humor being self-aware, watch it below. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4_ClxvHymhA
