Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles 1987 Original Watch Through

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles 1987 Original Watch Through
Looking back on..

About 5 years ago I re-watched all of the original Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles (1987) cartoon by Fred Wolf and I made notes about it as I watched it and thanks to that I can now post general comments on seasons, episodes, and continuity. Before this marathon I did, I had already watched all of the original toon up to season 4 but not much after that, just a few episodes here and there. As a kid I definitely remember watching the TMNT but maybe I was just too young to remember plots. I still watched enough of the show however since all the voices and songs are instantly recognizable so that’s a bit weird, I guess I did watch it a lot just not of other seasons and not as consistent as other shows plus my young age. It wasn’t until the DVD releases that I got to see many episodes and the whole show later when it was easier to watch. This isn’t a formal review but random questions, observations and thoughts on each season.

Season 1, there is stuff that bothers me like what happened to the other mutant gang members besides Rocksteady and Beebop? They just disappear. I also wonder how exactly Shredder met Krang what happened to the foot clan and why did he decide to follow Hamato to NY…heck Splinter makes a reference that he thought Shredder wasn’t alive anymore, maybe there was some type of battle between Shredder and Hamato before he went to NY? Shredder appeared to die so Hamato was still shunned by the foot clan therefore Shredder has no foot soldiers in the OT since they’re all in Japan thinking Hamato killed Oroku Saki. Just a weird theory I came up with.. The humor is so abstract, I love it, too bad later seasons don’t carry the same humor. I also feel bad for Baxter Stockman, why was he sent to jail? he wasn’t really a bad guy at all here, he was just threatened by the Shredder to do his evil stuff, heck he wasn’t even aware of everything he was doing! He even comments that Shredder must really hate rats to find a logic for his invention he was creating for him. I also really liked how much they fight foot soldiers, they never really use them after this season.

Ninja Turtles: The Next Mutation Episode Highlights & Review 2/2

Ninja Turtles: The Next Mutation Episode Highlights & Review 2/2
Looking back on..

We had a general review of Saban’s Ninja Turtles: The Next Mutation, the live action TMNT show at the end of the 90s which was meant to be seen as a sequel to the live action movies. As you’ll see the show has its flaws but it has plenty of redeeming features and needs a little more positivity online so here are Episode reviews / overviews of the 26 episode season we got, including the special crossover.

East Meets West (5 part pilot “movie”) – Change the script a little bit and give it a higher budget and this could have been the fourth Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles live action movie in the 90s. Yeah it wouldn’t necessarily been a classic like the first but I would have liked it as a kid and it would have been among the same quality of the two sequels since it doesn’t stray too far from the sequels in tone.
You have Shredder as the villain, they slowly introduce Venus and defeat the Shredder. Then the new villain the Dragonlord who is also introduced pretty well they are defeated at first but in the end they defeat him. The final battle would have to be a bit more epic since its a bit anti-climatic here (with a reason since he’d be the villain in the series). Pretty good way to start the show though it does feature most of the shows complains.

Ninja Turtles: The Next Mutation Review 1/2

Ninja Turtles: The Next Mutation Review 1/2
Looking back on..

Saban’s Ninja Turtles: The Next Mutation; The most hated thing in all TMNT and it can only be used to be joked about. As a kid I never got to see THe Next Mutation, however I always wanted to see it. I loved the idea of the turtles being older and thought the idea of a female turtle was awesome, not to mention the Dragonlord looked awesome. My only exposure to the show was the Power Rangers team-up, but still I didn’t think the show would be that bad. And is it? no its not, It’s actually pretty decent, yeah it has its silly moments but also has some cool ones and tons of untapped potential. That’s the short version, I decided to divide my post in three parts since it was too long for one post. First overall review of the show, then the episode reviews and third the potential that a second season had.

The Turtles personalities are about the same from the movie, in fact the show is done as a continuations to the live action movies, no contradictions like some people say. Splinter seems off scale, I don’t know why that is if you notice he seems to be in scale with the other turtles media but here he just looks too tall; I think it’s the fact that the Live Action movies always portrayed Splinter as much smaller. The turtles personalities are the same as their movie counterparts which is good.

Wrestling Society X was Attitude Era in the 2000’s

Wrestling Society X was Attitude Era in the 2000’s
Looking back on..

I grew out of wrestling after the attitude era but as I channel surfed one lazy day I found a wrestling show that got my attention, this was no modern WWE, it was Wrestling Society X.

Known as an absolutely terrible wrestling promotion that only lasted ten episodes but I saw something else, a show that brought wrestling back in a fun way for me to enjoy. So does that mean Wrestling Society X is secretly good?

Mighty Morphin’ Power Rangers Fan Club VHS goodies

Mighty Morphin’ Power Rangers Fan Club VHS goodies
Looking back on..

As a kid I was always interested in all those fan clubs that were promoted whether on the action figures that I bought or even on my Kids Meal when I went to Burger King. I must’ve been too young to understand how they worked though since I don’t recall ever knowing how they worked.

Little did I know that the Mighty Morphin’ Power Rangers had a fan club and not only did it include all kinds of neat memorabilia but also a VHS tape that had exclusive content! As soon as I found that out I knew I had to find it to see what this “lost” Power Rangers footage included.
