Music Match School – 3 School Related Music Videos ft Nada Surf, N.E.R.D., Alice Cooper

It’s the end of school for me and another goal so I thought it’d be nice to have school related music videos. They’re all mostly High School related it seems but still we have a nice selection of different genres take on life studying. More of a “fuck it” we’re done kinda feel that I was going for more than anything else as the theme here and not really wanted to dwell into anything else.

Nada Surf – Popular

We begin with Nada Surf with a rather bleak take and sermonious lyrics and school popularity. I still remember being told High School were going to best years of my life as I graduated but it couldn’t be more wrong. The song can get awfully close to cheesy and angsty with the themes it tries to go for but i do think it evades falling into cliche too much because it avoids a lot of some musical tropes. The music video however goes all the way in on the tropes and that oddly works for it.

It’s been a while since we took a look back at three different music videos and here are today’s selections with some trip-hop, nu-metal and synth-pop. Some cool music with some interesting music videos, so let’s take a look at what sets these videos apart from the usual crap.

Saliva – Your Disease

I know Saliva gets a lot of hate but when I do believe they have a few good songs here and there. I had seen this music video once or twice when I had just turned into a teenager and my cousins cool boyfriend with a sports car on a random drive after kick boxing class was driving over the speed limit while playing this song. This song will forever be cool for me. So whether Josey Scott is acting cool driving fast next to a random high school, a lesbian getting a regrettable nautical star tattoo as people pass around propaganda for his concert which is a bit egotistical but we’ll forever ignore the nonsensical lyrics as it just happens to be a cool little sing. Random groupies and bad security at the bar with random girls looking at stuff as the band tries to act cool? Yes please !

Thanksgiving is an important holiday and yet there really aren’t many songs about Thanksgiving, when I realized this I did some research to see if I could find anything as it seemed so odd that no one had done some. My search proved mostly futile unless you wanted a crappy parody song but I was able to find a few songs here and there to bring you three classic Thanksgiving songs for your playlist and Music Video to accompany them.

Addams Family Values – Eat Us (A Turkey Named Brotherhood)

The only parody song that I decided to post here since it’s easily the best one, a great movie if you haven’t seen it in a while and the song is short and sweet. Their whole Thanksgiving re-creation is a bit odd since it’s the summer but who cares it gave us this gem. Parody songs are abundant but none of them I would consider classics as this one which is why it was chosen.

Halloween is here and to celebrate this edition of Music Match we’ll feature 3 spooky music videos to go along with the holidayso enjoy the music recommendations and awesome music videos for a playlist to listen and watch through with your friends at a party.

Moderat – Rusty Nails

A very sensual music video of sorts or scary depending on your view, can’t say it’s a great one but the song is so damn good I had to share it. This is likely an example of when a music video can actually hurt the song since it’s distracting and doesn’t help the video at all with its imagery. Though I’m sure some fan already wrote a whole page of why this music video is perfect for the song, fans write the darnest things.

Combining the story of Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde along with the WOlfman and a bit of Dracula for this music video that only Ozzy himself would be able to pull off without many people questioning the decisions.
