Pokemon The Movie 2000 Movie Soundtrack is umm.. you could do worse
Listen back..

After the success of not only the first Pokemon movie but also the soundtrack that went along with it, you knew that you’d include a banging soundtrack with a bunch of popular artists for the sequel, Pokemon 2000 The Power of One, though maybe not too confident since the artists aren’t necessarily as popular as … Read More “Pokemon The Movie 2000 Movie Soundtrack is umm.. you could do worse” »

Filter Title of Record feels like an autumn album

Filter Title of Record feels like an autumn album
Listen back..

Let’s take a look at Filter’s second album Title of record and check out what this industrial band had to offer in 1999 and an album that I randomly bought without knowing if it’d be good or not just knowing that I liked some Filter songs at a used CD store and went on being my favorite record for November during my last year of High School. Spoiler alert, this album will make me cry and want to eat pumpkin pie. A little more ear friendly than Filter’s other stuff.

filter band title of record

Sand is just an intro that before this I thought it was just part of the next song so I guess it does a good job but now Welcome to the Fold feels a little bit weird without it. This song is so secret that Rhino records has the music video unlisted but here you can check it out in all its glory the official video of Welcome to the fold. A weird song to have as a single but I ain’t complaining and a long song that was edited for the radio version and music video which sucks. A guy is driving in the desert when he see’s a water cube mirage in full 90s budget CG effects which adds to it which is cool but the band playing randomly in a small squared white room with shirtless fans is no fun and neither when the other camping vans arrive. The big reveal is that they’re playing inside the cube and maybe a seeking missle goes to destroy it as people are getting in? I dunno just go with it, I mean Richard Patrick almost has Ares’ beard from Xena Warrior Princess.

Disturbed’s The Sickness is the Perfect Soundtrack for Super Monkey Ball

Disturbed’s The Sickness is the Perfect Soundtrack for Super Monkey Ball
Listen back..

The nu-metal debut album for Disturbed back in 2000 was something special, it was heavy, dark and stood out with the rest of the nu-metal stuff coming out at the time. I don’t quite remember how I got this record but I was already a fan when I started to see commercials on TV for … Read More “Disturbed’s The Sickness is the Perfect Soundtrack for Super Monkey Ball” »

Spawn The Album is fantastic to this day

Spawn The Album is fantastic to this day
Listen back..

Spawn has been quite a lucky franchise when it comes to music since it did get its own concept album by Iced Earth but also got a pretty damn good soundtrack for the 1997 film with Spawn: The Album. What makes this movie soundtrack different from others is that it’s mostly original tracks instead of a compilation album but that’s not where they stopped since it’s also a unique set of collaborations between well known Rock / Metal artists and electronic producers from the 90s which gives sets it apart from normal tracks.

The soundtrack begins with the single Can’t You Trip Like I do from The Crystal Method and Filter which I already talked about in a previous music match so I won’t go too much into details other than it’s a great track and wish there were more Spawn references in the music video besides random clips of the movie.

We then get a collaboration between Marilyn Manson and Sneaker Pimps with Long Hard Road Out of Hell which Todd McFarlane himself said Manson epitomized what Spawn was all about. There was some bad blood between Marilyn Manson and Sneaker Pimps over the writing of the song but nonetheless this is prime Manson. I was never a huge fan of this song but it does fit Spawn rather well thematically unlike the Filter song. The music video doesn’t really have much to do with anything since it’s just Manson being Manson in a church setting and modeling to make sure it’s out there.

McFarlane’s Spawn’s Concept Album by Iced Earth “The Dark Saga”

McFarlane’s Spawn’s Concept Album by Iced Earth “The Dark Saga”
Listen back..

People often forget that Todd MacFarlane’s Spawn was a pretty big thing back in the 90s that rivaled Marvel or DC comics’ best. How big? Well the band Iced Earth made a concept album for the character in 1996 called “The Dark Saga” and I don’t see Batman or even Wolverine getting a concept album anytime soon. Let’s listen back to this album and not only hear if it’s any good but if it’s a good album for Spawn.

Linkin Park Meteora is a second Hybrid Theory

Linkin Park Meteora is a second Hybrid Theory
Listen back..

By the time Meteora came out it had been 3 years since I had outgrown Linkin Park and had a more “refined” taste in music and I couldn’t listen to this casual shit anymore, and yet I was curious about the release…why? I don’t know maybe because Hybrid Theory made me into a metal head and was my first favorite band not to mention got me into music as my newest passion and gone were the days of being a “hardcore” gamer. I remember finding fake Meteora songs on p2p napster clones and I finally got to listen to their first single and I eventually got to listen to the whole cd after it came out…and well it was more Linkin Park like the first album, I didn’t hate it, I thought it was good but it was also something I had outgrown and was now into other bands. A long time has passed since then and I think it’s time to listen back to Linkin Park’s Meteora.

Adema Unstable a poppy Nu-Metal album
Listen back..

I was a huge fan of Adema’s first album and looked forward to their second album and while the EP Insomniac’s Dream held me a bit. When unstable was announced I was hyped and even though I hated the cover they chose since it broke the style they had been doing with the previous releases … Read More “Adema Unstable a poppy Nu-Metal album” »
