Camp Hyrule 2006 was the last summer camp Nintendo had, at least full featured Camp Hyrul as 2007 was mostly a give away of a Link statue and they only recycled past camps mini games after some fan outcry. Here you will find the emails they sent to Campers during the last year.
wed Aug 9 2006
Camp Hyrule 2006 begins the morning of Monday August 14, and here at
Nintendo Headquarters we’re getting really excited about what we’re certain
will be the BEST CAMP EVER!
This year, each and every registered camper will automatically be entered
in a sweepstakes to win a Wii console! We’ll randomly select one camper
during the Camp Hyrule 2006 Closing Ceremonies, and as soon as Wii is
released it will shipped to that camper’s home. The official sweepstakes
rules are included at the bottom of this e-mail.
You have been assigned to Cabin #6, and your lead Cabin Counselors are
NOA_Teragram and NOA_Zach (NOA stands for Nintendo of America). Camp
Hyrule begins August 14 at 9:00 am Pacific Time, and ends the evening of
August 18.
When you click “Enter Camp” at www.camphyrule.com on Monday morning, the
first thing you’ll see is the Camp Hyrule map. You can explore tons of chat
rooms, bulletin boards and other fun stuff by exploring this map. While
you’re exploring, be sure to visit the Trading Post to see a complete list
of Camp Hyrule activities each day.
Here is your Cabin Chat schedule (all times are Pacific Daylight-Savings
Time).
10:00am – 11:00am, Monday through Friday
and
4:00pm – 5:00pm, Monday through Thursday
To access your Cabin Chat, click on the picture of the cabins on the main
Camp Hyrule map. You can chat at Camp Hyrule whenever it’s open, but you
should be sure to show up for at least one of your Cabin Chats every day.
By participating in Camp Hyrule activities throughout the week, you can
earn points for your cabin. You can tell which cabin is in the lead by
checking the Leaderboard. On Friday, the Camp Directors will announce
which cabins end up on top. The contest is pretty much just for bragging
rights, but the First, Second, and Third-place cabins will win signature
files and desktop wallpapers.
On the first day of camp, you’ll decide on a name for your cabin during
the first cabin chat of the day. Also, everyone in your cabin will have the
chance to design an official cabin flag.

Hey there campers!
Welcome to the first day of Camp Hyrule 2006!
Firstly, we’d like to thank each and every one of you for attending Camp
Hyrule 2006. This is Nintendo’s biggest online event of the year, and
it’s thanks to dedicated campers like you that this event is such a huge
success year after year.
When you get to camp, you’ll notice that Camp Hyrule has been moved to
the outermost reaches of the galaxy. We know that the vast expanses of
space aren’t generally associated with summertime fun, but don’t worry –
we have you covered with the Lake Webaconda biosphere.
Don’t forget! Today is the day that you and your cabin-mates can name your
cabin. Bring your ideas to your first Cabin Chat of the day to vote for
the best name. By naming your cabin, you’ll earn FIVE POINTS for your cabin.
Another thing you can do today is design your official cabin flag. If you’d
like to participate in this activity, create an image 200 (w) x 150 (h)
pixels formatted as a jpg. Visit the Trading Post for instructions about how
to submit your design. Camp Directors will select the best flag, and post
it on the flagpole outside of your cabin. Once your flag is flying, you’ll
earn TEN POINTS for your cabin.
As you can imagine, we’ve been working extremely hard all year long to move
Camp Hyrule into outer space. It costs us a pretty penny, but we’re
extremely pleased with how it’s turned out. Camp Hyrule veterans can
probably guess why we decided to make the move. Each year, someone – or
something – decides to sabotage Camp Hyrule. We moved to outer space this
year to avoid these types of headaches, and we’re not quite sure whether or
not our hard work has paid off.
Unfortunately, the gravity generator located in the center of Camp Hyrule is
missing four of its key components. We haven’t ruled out foul play, but
we’re sincerely hoping that we can blame this circumstance on the meteor
shower that’s currently raining down on Camp Hyrule. Hey, you can’t blame us
for the weather! At any rate, here are the pieces that are missing from the
gravity generator:
1. Multi-Cell Quad Filter
2. Pulse Oscillator
3. Radio Diffusion Dome
4. Geodetic Stabilizer
Because of the damage to the gravity generator, various Camp Hyrule
installments have floated out of range. The primary planets and cabins are
still in place, but some very important locations such as the Amphitheater
are no longer in our gravity field.
Before the meteor shower can do more damage, we need your help to save Camp
Hyrule from the storm. Click on “Meteor Shower!” on the main map to help us
stop the meteors from wrecking Nintendo Power HQ and the all-important cabin
complex.
If you need help, be sure to visit the First Aid Hut. Thanks, and try to
have some fun today, meteor shower or no meteor shower!

Good morning, campers!
It’s another beautiful day at Camp Hyrule 2006. We’re pleased to report
that the Multi-Cell Quad Filter was recovered yesterday and thanks to
your help we survived the meteor shower. Excellent work! As you can see on
the main map, the Amphitheater has returned to our gravitational field
thanks to your efforts.
But there is still a lot of work to be done. Poor Stumpy is just floating
around in space and we received word that the Lost Woods is on the verge
of drifting beyond the range of our gravity generator. Speaking of which,
NOA_Mike spent all day yesterday examining the generator and discovered
that the damage is not consistent with what would have been caused by a
meteor shower. This leads us to suspect foul play. Are we not safe even in
the far reaches of space?
To top it all off, it appears that we are under attack by a relentless
army of Space Viruses. We never imagined that it could be so inhospitable
out here! We could really use your help in fighting off these vile creatures
Be sure to visit the Trading Post to lend a hand. We’d hate to let those
things infiltrate the Lake Webaconda biosphere.
In the midst of all this madness, don’t miss today’s special guest chat
with Raymond Yan from Digipen at 3:00pm PDT. Hopefully we won’t have to
close the dome on the Amphitheater.
Also, we’d like to let you know about another opportunity to earn points
for your cabin. Your cabin could use a Cabin Mascot! This could either be
a Nintendo character, a picture of your favorite pet or basically anything
at all. Visit the Trading Post for more information about how to submit a
mascot. You’ll receive 10 POINTS for having a Cabin Mascot.
Thanks, and be careful out there!

Howdy campers!
Wow, what a close call we had yesterday! Those Space Viruses sure were
persistent. With your help, we held off their attack and the only person
who seems to have been infected was NOA_Shaun. He should be in sick bay
at the First Aid Hut, but if you see him wandering around you might want
to keep your distance.
We’re pleased to report that the Pulse Oscillator was recovered yesterday,
and now that we’ve added it to the gravity generator, the Lost Woods planet
has returned to orbit. Be careful when you explore the Lost Woods though.
A bread crumb trail would never work because the place is infested with
Moblins. Always bring a buddy when you enter the Lost Woods.
Stumpy’s Stable is still missing, though, and we’re beginning to get really
worried about our faithful how. It looks like he’s floated into a space junk
deposit and he could use some help. Click on “Stumpy S.O.S!” on the main map
to see if you can lend him a hand.
In other news, NOA_Mike is still investigating who or what may have tampered
with the gravity generator. He was conducting a space walk late last night
and was able to capture a digital photo of a very suspicious-looking
individual. The image didn’t turn out very well, but we thought we’d post it
in the Trading Post for everyone to see. Don’t forget to check it out.
Also, be sure to visit the Amphitheater today at 11:00am Pacific Time to
chat with George Harrison, Nintendo’s Vice President of Marketing and
Corporate Communications. At 3:00pm, you can chat with Nintendo’s
Localization Team, currently working on a wide variety of upcoming games for
Wii and Nintendo DS.
Have fun today everyone!

What’s up campers!
We’re extremely pleased to report that, thanks to your help, we were able to
save Stumpy from the deposit of space junk that he floated into yesterday.
Along the way, we also recovered the Radio Diffusion Dome. As a result,
Stumpy’s Stable has returned to the Camp Hyrule gravitational field. We
can’t speak for Stumpy, but we’ve never seen him looking happier!
That leaves just one more missing piece of the gravity generator to recover.
We think you’ll be quite happy to discover what installation returns to Camp
Hyrule if you’re able to track down the Geodetic Stabilizer today. The
problem is, it looks like a massive group of stars has collapsed nearby and
formed a black hole. At this very moment, all of Camp Hyrule is in danger of
being pulled into the abyss. We know you’re anxious to get to today’s arts
and crafts, but if you have time, please click on “Black Hole!” on the main
map to help us prevent Camp Hyrule from blinking out of existence.
Oh yeah, that creep was lurking around the gravity generator again last
night. NOA_Mike took another snapshot, but once again it didn’t turn out
very well. It’s currently posted in the Trading Post so be sure to check it
out.
Don’t forget to cruise by the Amphitheater today at 3:00pm Pacific Time to
chat with the pro players from Nintendo Power Magazine!
In other news, tomorrow we’ll be hosting the Camp Hyrule closing ceremonies
in the Amphitheater. Bring some tissues, ’cause we’ll be bidding a tearful
farewell to another great year of camp. Every year we give out End-Of-Camp
Awards at the closing ceremonies, based on a number of strange categories.
Check out the following categories below, and vote for the camper who you
think would be the perfect candidate. Please do not vote for NOAs or
members of Stumpy’s Stable Crew. And hey, show some Camp Hyrule pride and
don’t vote for yourself, okay?
Triforce Award (camper who spent the most time in chat):
Master Sword Award (camper who spent the most time on the bulletin boards):
Baby Mario Award (cutest camper):
Tingle Award (funniest camper):
Paper Mario Award (best artist):
Miyamoto Award (best name):
Nintendo Power Award (most knowledgeable about video games):
Candy Kong Award (friendliest camper):
Skull Kid Award (camper who spent the most time in the Lost Woods):
Bowser Award (biggest troublemaker):
Mario Award (most helpful camper):
Stumpy Award (most knowledgeable about Camp Hyrule history):
Sonic Award (fastest typer):
Luigi Award (best speller):
Koopa Award (worst speller):
Seven Stars Award (most knowledgeable RPG gamer):

Send your nominations to [email protected] by 8:00 am Pacific Time
tomorrow. Every camper who votes will earn ONE POINT for his/her cabin (one
entry per camper). IMPORTANT!! Be sure to include your cabin number in the
subject line. If you do not include your cabin number, your cabin will not
receive credit for your entry. So, if you are in Cabin 10, the subject line
should read “Cabin 10.”
Have a great day,
Camp Directors

Greetings campers!
Well campers, we hope you’ve had a blast at Camp Hyrule 2006. We sure have,
and we finally have some good news! Thanks to your help, the gravity
generator is now fully functional. The Geodetic Stabilizer has been
recovered, and Mr. Pickle’s Satellite has drifted back to Camp Hyrule!
Even more encouraging is the fact that the black hole that was here
yesterday has now completely disappeared. On top of that, we didn’t
observe any suspicious activity around the gravity generator last night.
Camp Hyrule 2006 is now in tip-top condition!
We’re not sure if you’ve noticed, but there has been a bright light by the
Mario Hoops Basketsphere all week long. Is it just us, or does it seem to
be getting bigger every day? Oh well, we’re sure it’s nothing to worry
about. Let’s just focus on having fun!
Whatever you do, don’t miss the Camp Hyrule 2006 Closing Ceremonies today at
4:00pm Pacific Time.
Thanks again for making Camp Hyrule 2006 such a huge success. It wouldn’t be
possible without great campers like you! Enjoy the rest of your summer to
the fullest, and play lots of video games!
Sincerely,
Camp Directors
