The Super Mario Bros Movie was just right, nothing special but it did what it needed to do. It was well liked and fans did the best thing they can do. Create tributes for them. So today, I wanted to see some of my favorite tributes Nintendo’s Super Mario movie. A little bit of everything.

The Super Mario Bros Movie done in a nintendo 64 demake style
We’ve gotten various parts of the trailer and/movie, here are just a few of the ones I found and enjoyed. some are better than others but I’d watch a full movie done in this style and it might just happen.

Charles martinet in voicing Mario instead of Chris Pratt
I was always fine with Mario having a different voice for the movie, different take different interpretation. Not such a fan of replacing Charles in the video games though. But in the movies case while I was expecting it and didn’t mind I also would’ve been more than fine with Charles Martinet voicing Mario in the movie. Here is a fan edit and I’d check out a fan edit with AI voice Charles doing all the lines.

Speaking about Charles Martinet, he is also fluent in various languages. He has done Mario’s voice in Spanish before and in the movie he got to dub his own character made specifically for him, Giuseppe (not to mention Mario’s Father) in different languages. This isn’t much of a tribute made by fans but it’s related

Super mario maker Super mario movie
We didn’t get a video game based on the movie which is likely a good thing. But that doesn’t mean fans couldn’t make their own, especially since we have a game that literally let’s you make Mario levels. Here are just a few fan made levels based on the movie.

Super Mario The Movie in 8 bit
Well it says 8 bit but it’s clearly more 16 bit or even 32 bit but whatever pixel style. So here’s the trailer and it’s kind of fun to see it in a different art style and one that is related to the origin of Mario, video games. We started with 64 bits and we end with this

I will likely update this if I find more and more little tributes I find related to the movie.
