Future of Nintendo Mobile Complete Games

Nintendo Mobile game apps have had a weird release history, with some already going offline. But Nintendo seems happy with their mobile strategy and they haven’t abandoned it. In fact they seem to be updating all their Nintendo related apps. We also saw the release of the first Complete version of one of their games with Animal Crossing Pocket Camp Complete. While it’ll depend on sales and also the European laws on mobile games might’ve influenced the decision for it. I think we can expect more complete nintendo mobile games going forward. I’ll take a look at the games Nintendo has already released.

Mario Kart Tour I think is likely to get a complete edition, it already stopped getting content a while back but it’s been recycling the tours. Despite having most of its content added to Mario Kart 8 Deluxe, it still includes a couple of original characters, many costume reskins of characters unique to it and some original Race tracks that are exclsuive to this game. It’s considered a mainline Mario kart by Nintendo, it is a unique entry that plays different as well. I’m guessing they still make some money off of it but eventually they will release a complete version that just goes through all the tours. Without micro transactions this would be totally worth it for me. I really hope it happens. You alredy played with a bunch of bots in online games so it’d be fine.

Dragalia Lost – An original IP that got its own direct and some heavy early promotion by Nintendo only for it to be forgotten and ended once the original contract lapsed. Cygames did recently get mentioned as a partner building a relationship with Nintendo. I’d love to see a new Dragalia Lost game since it’s such a great universe. But of course a complete version of this game is totally doable as there’s so much single player content that it would make it worth it even with no online capabilities. Out of all the already offline titles, this is the one I think can still make a comeback.

Dr. Mario World makes me sad since it has the least probability of happening. The game barely had any time available and it was never that popular. The actual game was really fun, too bad the gatcha for new characters was ridiculously rigged. It killed any excitement to get all the cool doctors they designed. But the actual game was so much fun and felt like a true sequel to Dr. Mario trying something new. It’s the one I’d be most excited for since it was a new take on Dr. Mario, if they gave us the full modes they had already completed it’d be a worthwhile puzzle game to own.

Miitomo is another one I’d love to see but it has even less of a chance of happening than Dr. Mario World. That’s because the biggest component of the Miitomo app was its online social feature. So counting the complete games would be offline, this gets rid of most of the unique features of the actual game. Best we can hope is that a new Tomodachi Life game takes all the stuff that Miitomo did and integreate it. But I mean, I’ll take Miitomo offline in a heartbeat if Nintendo gives me a complete edition.

Fire Emblem Heroes umm I guess, it’s the most popular one so makes the most sense. If it becomes less and less profitable I can see it happening. It’s the one i’d be least excited for since I’m not a big fan of the franchise. But there’s tons of content I’m sure it’d sell really well.

But Animal Crossing Complete did it the best way possible. While some online features would’ve been good. It included everything the original game had, plus they added a few campaigns for people to have some new content for a while before they started repeating content, which in anycase is years worth of content that they’ll go through. Only copyrighted characters that Nintendo does not own were not in the complete edition of the game although I’m sure you’d be able to add those thorugh other means. and if you did earn them when you could they’re all yours.

Super Mario Run I left till the end since well, it’s already a complete version of the game. Sure you can play a free version with only some levels but you can pay and own the game completely. They’ve added content over the years and there’s plenty there for what Nintendo considers a mainline Super Mario game. The only thing I’d hope one day Nitnendo removes is the online check the app does to make sure you have a legit copy.

It does suck that the complete versions remove the online component as it could’ve at least been allowed for a while. I’d love to visit some friends Animal Crossing Pocket Camps and it’s impossible now. With that said the compelte version still requires an online connectivity check point to see that it’s a legit copy. I sure hope that is eventually removed when they stop caring about the game to do any updates. Animal Crossing Pocket Camp does show what a great game it became and how much content it got, for any fans who hate mobile games, have no excuse as that game is worth every penny and pretty much any nintendo mobile game would be worth it with all the content they have once you remove the micro transactions out of the equation.
