We’ve taken a look at the 2003 Nintendo Fusion tour, now it’s time to highlight some of the songs iconic to that tour. Well “iconic” in a way since they were either used to promote the tour or the 1080 snowboarding Gamecube game. So today’s Music Match is dedicated to that tour and some of the hype music you’d listen as it was making its way to your town.
Cauterize “Choke”
Poor band doesn’t even have a wikipedia page to check what songs they have. And yet Choke is basically one of the main theme songs for the Nintendo game 1080 Avalanche. The music video is about as low budget as you can get, justs a band playing live in a small venue. And not for effect, that’s likely the best place they had played while on tour and also not the headliners. Unsure why Nintendo chose them to be in the game, perhaps because the licensing was so cheap. They could’ve at least let them use some snowboarding gamecube footage for the msuic video. At least some people seem to enjoy this song on the game, probably their greatest claim to fame.
Finger Eleven “Good Times”
A band playingg in some type of igloo? I love the idea. Not the best or my pick for a Finger Eleven song but a decent catchy single I guess. It’s from the album they were touring for and the one the one promoted. With all the snow they had i it they should’ve most definitely included 1080 footage, what a missed opportunity.
Revis “Caught in the rain”
Revis was not actually in any Nintendo game but I guess they were popular and in a way they have become the song that the 2003 Nintendo Fusion Tour is known for. Just a catchy great song with a catchy chorus. I will only ever think of this song with 2000s era Nintendo trying to appeal to the cool teenage music crowd.
