Gaming Again

Rampage is the video game you always wanted to play and maybe didn’t know it existed, the games usually consist of George, Lizzie, and Ralph who are giant kaiju that you control and get to destroy the city as you pass through levels as a giant Gorilla, Lizard or Wolf respectively. Yes, the game is as awesome as it sounds, it can get a bit repetitive but it’s meant for some fun single or multiplayer fun. Sadly it is a somewhat obscure popular franchise that has had scattered releases and forgotten for many years at a time. Let’s take a look at the history of games that this franchise has given us.

Godzilla: The Series Characters Profiles and discussion
Looking back on..

We saw took a look back at Godzilla: The Series and Godzilla 1998 and like other film to animated sequels there are some changes with the characters and they don’t usually look like their actor counterparts to save some money. So let’s take a look at some of the characters the show had to offer.

Godzilla (Zilla) Jr.: Since the Godzilla was killed in the film (and later revived in the show) they had to bring in a new Godzilla and it’s easily explained by having one of the baby Zilla eggs survive, which is actually a cliffhanger ending the movie had and the show resolves. Nick goes to check that there aren’t any eggs left and finds this one egg hatching, the baby Godzilla thinks Nick is his mother and a loving relationship is formed.

Godzilla: The Series the 1998 Sequel

Godzilla: The Series the 1998 Sequel
Looking back on..

Godzilla (1998) may have been a movie that everyone hated but it had a short lived animated series is remembered fondly by those who watched it I loved it as well since it continued from the movie which I had enjoyed and it was a Godzilla cartoon which is something I always wanted and the Hanna-Barbera cartoon didn’t fulfil.

The show had a decent run of 40 episodes, and it always got good ratings which is saying something since it was out during the time Pokemon and all the networks had similar shows to compete against. The show begins exactly where the movie ends, in fact the first episode shows the ending of the movie in animated form and that’s actually really cool.

Godzilla 1998 isn’t bad, it rocks!

Godzilla 1998 isn’t bad, it rocks!
Redemption Review

In the dawn of a new Godzilla era and because I’ll also be reviewing the series based on this movie I thought it was needed for someone to chime in and defend this little movie from the Internet since it gets far more hate than it could possibly deserve despite its flaws. So whether you call him GINO, Zilla, American / Tristar / Sony Godzilla which I refuse to since he is Godzilla to me, and this is my tribute to him.

So you can better understand where I’m coming from I’ll let you know a bit of my backstory, I always loved Dinosaurs and liking Godzilla was a no brainer. I thought he was awesome even if I had never seen any of his movies and I actually sadly never got to experience any of his movies as a kid either. I never saw any Godzilla films on video rental stores or ever caught them airing on TV, the closest I got was the Hannah-Barbera Godzilla cartoon with Godzuki and even as a kid I was not a big fan of it and only liked it because it was Godzilla something. I go to a theater to see some movie and I get to see a T-Rex skeleton crushed by a giant foot and then find out a Godzilla movie is coming out and I would actually be able to see it!

Godzilla’s Revival Series in the Reiwa Era

Godzilla’s Revival Series in the Reiwa Era
Rampant Speculation

Godzilla movies have been divided into the Showa, Heisei and Millenium era’s to help represent the series that the movie belonged to. While the Millenium series ended a while ago it seems with all the new Godzilla projects in the works we’ve reached a new era. Some fan sites are already calling it the Reboot series, but is this name really appropriate?

The only thing going for it is that all previous movies always referred to the original Gojira 1954 movie as being the first and this is the first film that doesn’t acknowledge those events but even then Godzilla has gone through a lot of reboots so more than anything it seemed like Godzilla was no longer a relevant franchise until now again so it’s more of a revival so until the reboot series is cemented into the fandom I’ll just refer to it as the Revival series which started with the American Godzilla by Legendary in 2014.

What is Kaiju Big Battel?

What is Kaiju Big Battel?
FVN News

Fox Mulder was right all along and now there are tons of giant monsters running around the world
that can create havoc around cities if left unchecked. Luckily we have an organization that can take care of this problem. Kaiju Big Battel gets the giant monsters in a wrestling ring to set their differences aside and avoid further destruction.

You won’t find a giant waffle wrestling in a ring and doing somersaults in the WWE but here any fan of giant monsters, Japanese culture and wrestling fans can enjoy the show. It’s not everywhere that you get to see a piece of a building being used as a steel chair to hit their opponents with, it really is something special and one of a kind.

A fun watch from time to time. To learn more about the history of Kaiju Big Battel see the video below.

The Original Skull Island and Movie we didn’t get

The Original Skull Island and Movie we didn’t get
Forgotten Franchise

It was San Diego Comic Con 2014 and Legendary said they had one more movie to show, many people though it would be a teaser for Jurassic World but instead it was for a new King Kong prequel titled Skull Island. Many were disappointed including myself as I wanted any type of Jurassic Park news which was going to release in a year while this movie was scheduled for 2 years later in 2016. So out of the gate the new movie started with a bad word of mouth as people expected many things including a Pacific Rim sequel.

Since Legendary had the rights to Godzilla many had speculated if perhaps a new Godzilla VS King Kong would be possible and Legendary listened to the bad press and what they wanted. Eventually the movie was postponed and re-scheduled for 2017 and it no longer had Universal involved with Warner Bros replacing them to make the Godzilla crossover happen and reboot King Kong with the Skull Island movie instead of it being a prequel. I may have mixed opinions about Godzilla fighting King Kong again but it’ll be something awesome to see, nevertheless if the original plan had gone through we could’ve gotten something quite awesome.
